| Prayer for Government |
Sovereign God,
I come in humble obedience, bringing supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanks for all people,
for kings and all who are in authority, so that Your people may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all
godliness and reverence. I thank you that Your Word and Your Spirit are in absolute authority over
the rulers of the United States of America. I ask that You bless our government officials with wisdom
and understanding to do what is right and just for our land. Father, let Your Spirit rest upon them.
Give them the grace to rest in and rely on You.
No weapon shall succeed against them. Though a thousand may fall at their side, and ten thousand
at their right hand, no evil shall befall them. Thank You, Father, that You guide them in paths of
righteousness and that discretion watches over them to keep them from evil.
I pray that our governmental authorities are honest and godly men and women that maintain
uprightness and integrity in office and in their homes. Let their hearts be in Your Hand, Lord, so that
they will submit to Your direction in their decisions. Father, never let them forget that You are the
source of every persons' wisdom, peace, freedom, health,and prosperity. I pray in Jesus' Name.
