Some Area

We have all had times and season where we felt “less than spiritual”; times when events and conditions of our life seem to
unfold very naturally with little or no evidence of signs, wonders or miracles.  Maybe it was a physical challenge, a souring
relationship, or financial hurdle; where, to the best of our understanding, we just seemed to make it through without the
manifestation of the power of prayer.  These are the most challenging times to a believer, when our faith is called foolish [by
some], our trust is challenged, and if we allow it, we can get frustrated as we patiently stay still.  Hope deferred makes the
heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.  [Proverbs 13:12] (emphasis ours)

If have had this experience or you are currently in this situation - KNOW this, and take hope.    Just because there may be
SOME AREA in your life that is a challenge and the immediate results look like they are only being addressed by natural
means, the Lord has moved, is moving, and will continue to move on your behalf.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday,
today, and forever. [Hebrews 13:8] (see also Mark 11: 22-25)

There is a account of an event in Jesus’ earthly ministry that is so well known that most children’s ministry classrooms
have depictions of it on their walls.  In John 4 we are introduced to “the woman at the well”.  We don’t know her name but
she is as significant as any individual in the New Testament.  If I were to storyboard this chapter in terms of action and not
dialog, it might read something like this: [end of John 3:15-4:4]  Jesus ministry eclipses John’s and John concedes -
Pharisees take note- Jesus leaves Judea for Galilee passing through Samaria - Stops in Sychar, tired -  talks to woman -
talks to towns men - stays 2 days- leaves for Galilee.  On the surface, this seems very natural.  Jesus is talking about the
ministry, but no “mighty miracles” occur.

The key to seeing the spiritual importance in this part of Jesus ministry is found in the following verses, when He returned
to the town where he had changed water into wine.  When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went
to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.  Then Jesus said to him,
“Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”  [John 4:46-48]  This is a seemingly strange
response to a plea for healing unless we understand what really happened at Sychar.

In Sychar of Samaria, Jesus found a woman and a people who believed in Him and His Word without the evidence of a
sign, a wonder, or a miracle.  Certainly, the beginning of the conversion of Sychar started with Jesus having a word of
knowledge for the woman.  This was necessary to get past the prejudicial attitude of Jews and Samarians.  Once the
prejudice was overcome, they all believed on Jesus - without a sign.  Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not
because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the
world.” [John 4:42]  They believed in Jesus, not in the Jewish areas of Judea or Cana, but in Samaria, where no mighty
works were performed!  You might say, “well that is okay for them, but what does that have to do with me?”  Excuse the pun,
but are you in “SOME-AREA” where there are seemingly no mighty works being done?  Are you aware that you are of greater
faith, and please God more when you keep believing, especially when the result is not immediately evident?  Jesus said to
him, “Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed.  Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have
believed.” [John 20:29]

We are not endorsing a “miracles have passed away” doctrine.  Miracles are as prevalent now as they were in Jesus earthly
ministry [see [Hebrews 13:8] again].   But keep in mind that in the seedtime- harvest process, “delays” can make it appear
as if our hard work and our faith are not producing fruit.  Jesus prophetically ministered to his disciples regarding this very
thing.  For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored;
others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.” [ John 4:37-8]  He was speaking of a time to come after His
resurrection when Phillip revisited Samaria. This time, the harvest of miracles, signs and wonders occurred in the middle of
a revival.  Then Philip went down to a city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.  And the multitudes with one accord
heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.  For unclean spirits, crying with a loud
voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.  And there was great
joy in that city.  [Acts 8:5-8]  The people in “Some-Area” who were having challenges, didn’t see the immediate
manifestation of their faith and prayers; but because of their hope and belief, the time came where EVERYBODY got saved,
healed, and delivered… Oh! And there was GREAT JOY as well; that means fullness and prosperity, as well as good health.

Some of you have shared with us your areas of challenge so that we may agree with you in prayer, some have not done
so.   We encourage you to send us your prayer requests so we can pray in agreement with you.  In either case, know this:
when you believe in the Lord, and receive His Word by faith, IN DUE SEASON breakthrough will occur in your “some-area”,
with miracles, signs and wonders.  In Jesus Name, Amen!

Love In Christ,
