Bless The Lord

Psalm 103 is one the most powerful chapters we have to study and pray in faith.   It is the one of the most concise definitions of
blessing and being blessed all in one chapter.  The word bless is defined here as, “to bestow favor and empower to succeed.”
With that in mind, please look at Psalm 103, drawing on the power of God’s Anointing to change your life.

[1] Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! This simply means that we are to bestow favor
and reverence on the Lord with ALL that is within us.  Anything in us that does not “bless the Lord,” should go. [2] Bless the
LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:  The Lord would not instruct us not to forget if there was not the occasional
opportunity to forget in the middle of circumstances.  So we bless Him and HE is empowered to help us to remember.  So what
does the world and the devil want us to forget?  Answer:  The Lord God Almighty (Who we just blessed) through the power of the
Holy Spirit, in the Name of Jesus,
[3] ...who  forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, [4] Who redeems your life from destruction Who crowns you
with lovingkindness and tender mercies, [5] Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the
eagle’s.

Those five verses show the totality of God’s promise and power to forgive, heal, restore and provide for you, me, and everyone
who will “bless the Lord.”  Now, just when you might think the Lord is done about all He could possibly promise to do. . .
[6] The LORD executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed.  [7] He made known His ways to Moses His acts to
the children of Israel. [you and me] [8] The LORD is merciful and gracious,  Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.

“So why do I still have situations to overcome?”  There are quite a few personal reasons why we face challenges and are made
to wait, [strife, un-forgiveness and gossip to name a few].  We must also understand that there is a world-system and a lower
heavenly system that is set against our blessing God, as well as receiving His Blessing in our lives.  Most importantly we are to
remember:
[9] He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.  [10] He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor
punished us according to our iniquities.

God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not causing us problems to teach us or humble us.  Father God will bring good out of evil, but
His perfect will has always been to give His children good things.  It is His very nature to do so.  And, common sense will tell you
that it is easier to bring good out of good!  Just when someone thinks they don’t deserve it, God shows how much mercy and
forgiveness He has for us.
[11] For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;  [If you recall last month’s
letter, “fear” in this case means, “reverence” toward God].  [12] As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our
transgressions from us.

We are to empower the Lord [or allow Him] to forgive us.  We then bestow the favor or trust toward Him, that He is able to do what
He promises no matter how it looks.  That MUST happen before we can receive wisdom, healing, prosperity and everything else
He promised to give or do for us.
[ 17] But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s
children, [18] To such as keep His covenant, And remember His commandments to do them.

We are assured that GOD is to be blessed, and we empower Him to bless us as we allow ourselves to be unashamedly
blessed by Him. [How much more of a blessing is in store for us who are obedient Children of God and joint heirs with Christ?
(See Romans 8:16-17)].
[20] Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word. [21] Bless the
LORD, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.   [22] Bless the LORD, all His works, In all places of His
dominion.
Bless the LORD, O my soul!
We pray that you bless the Lord at all times and receive His blessing continually, In Jesus’ Name!

Love In Christ,

Gregory and Linda Emler
