What to Do With Fear
It is a great joy to bring this message to you. We literally spend weeks meditating and studying the Word for these letters. As
we are praying for you, the Lord brings a subject to light. He then begins to open the word around that thought. As best we
can, by the grace of God and through the help of the Holy Spirit, we put these ideas to “pen” so that we may share them with
you. We pray this letter blesses you, In Jesus Name.
There has been so much fear publicized and promoted recently. Almost every media source is inundated with messages of
fear. If we are to deal with it and get the victory over it, an accurate Word-based discussion on fear is in order. Fear-ful-ness
[especially being full of fear of the unknown] has kept more ministries, businesses, marriages, and friendships from
flourishing than any direct result of natural disaster or national demise.
So what do we “do” with this thing called fear? On one hand; “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:
because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. [1John 4:18] and yet, on the other hand, The fear of the
LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10] After spending
considerable time searching the Word and in prayer, we understand that fear [scripturally defined] means total reverence,
respect or awe. When there is a fear of people, their opinions and actions; of events, and of our circumstances, that fear is to
be cast out, and reverence, respect and awe are to be directed toward The Lord Jesus. Instead of crying to God about how big
our circumstances are, we are to proclaim to our circumstances how BIG our God is!
You see, in its most simplistic form, fear is “a total, committed response to a given stimuli.” Clinically, it is referred to as “fight
or flight reflex.” Fear is a physical, emotional and mental response to someone or something. That object of fear is given total
attention and is a motivator to take immediate action. Whether positive or negative, fear is the total submission and response
to what we believe can affect us.
Because the world generally thinks, speaks, and believes negatively, fear is usually connected with horror, dread or terror.
Because someone fears the things of this world, they empower those things. As they empower those things, they are more
likely to be hurt by them. The story of Job is scriptural example of a person having what he feared come to pass. For the thing
which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. [Job 3:25] Although Job feared
[reverenced] God [Job1:1] he greatly feared that the calamity that had happened to him would happen. We are not saying that
people without fear never get hurt, but it is true that we steer towards whatever we focus upon. The LORD Almighty is the one
you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, [Isaiah 8:13] Also there are countless testimonies of believers, in the
midst of danger, being delivered by giving greater reverence and attention to the Name of Jesus than to the circumstances.
When this world’s definition of fear is cast 0ff and our fear is properly directed at the Lord [the Absolute Dominion and
Supreme Authority], fear becomes redefined as reverence, it empowers the Lord to direct us; spirit, soul, and body. It allows
Him to be Lord on our behalf and it charges ministering angels to work on our behalf. That is a very good place to be! It is a
holy place where the “nay-sayers” and doubters, the economic indicators and the clinical test results ALL must take their place
BEHIND and UNDER the Lord and His Word! “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he
that is in you, than he that is in the world.” [1 John 4:4]
So how do “love vessels” deal with fear? Look at 1John 4:18 again – “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:
because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” You can’t deal with verse 18 unless you listen to verse
17: “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as he is, so are we in this
world.” A life of Love will perfect [complete] us so that we do not have to be afraid in the Day of Judgment. “If we receive the
witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.” [1John5:9] The
fears that cause unlovely retaliation or resentment toward people must be cast out, AFTER a person develops reverence (fear)
for the Lord. Agape [unconditional love] will cast out fear of man, the devil, and circumstances that torment us.
To this end we pray that the worldly fears that attempt to magnify themselves in our lives would be exposed and cast out by
Love. We pray that we all will be filled with the reverence and awe of the Lord. He alone is worthy to receive honor. We believe
that as we do so, the ministering angels are working on our behalf and we are filled with wisdom unto undeniable victory:
spirit, soul, and body – In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!
Love In Christ,
