What is Christ? Who am I?
In Old Testament times a person's name often indicated their noted occupation. (i.e. Matthew [the] tax collector, Simon [the] tanner,
Zebedee [the] fisher, etc.) Jesus was not know as “Jesus [the] carpenter. He was, and still is, Jesus [the] Christ.
Christ is not translated from the Greek in most Bibles. Maybe we are to personally explore the meaning of Christ as it describes
Jesus. Christ is defined as the Messiah, the Anointed One. God Promised the Messiah would have power. The Spirit of the Lord
GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; (Isaiah 61:1) After He had
received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Jesus proclaimed He is the Anointed One. And He began to say to them, “Today this
Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”(Luke4:21) Jesus’ calling or function is to use the Power of God [of love] to bring prosperity to
the poor, heal broken hearts, liberate captives and release those who are bound AND to dispense that authority to us who believe.
So, the Lord’s name means: JESUS [Yahweh is salvation] CHRIST [the Messiah that uses God’s power to break bondages and
yokes] That is who Jesus Christ was, is and will always be.
So how about you and me? Do we call ourselves Christian? And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. (Acts11:26)
Do you believe Christians are heirs of God? And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the
promise .(Galatians 3:29) Do you accept that God, who is love, is in us? And we have known and believed the love that God has for
us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. (1John 4:16) Hopefully you answered yes to all these
questions and we can now get down to it!
Fill in the following blank with your first name ___________________ [the] Christian. Identifying yourself with being a CHRISTian
means we are heirs with Jesus. That gives us permission to use God’s power over the enemy, harmful situations, every curse and
bondage. We have Jesus’ blood-bought authority to be anointed by, and to use His anointing to bring good tidings to the poor, heal
the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, opening of the prison to those who are bound, authority over all the power of the
enemy, and nothing shall be any means hurt you [see above]
Some might say “I am just a sinner saved by grace, and couldn’t really be anointed.” True, we WERE sinners SAVED by grace, past
tense! Read the back of the Bible. . . we are redeemed and should say so! It is like me telling you I am a high school student. Yes,
I was a high school student, but I am no longer, because I graduated. We were saved by grace and have been baptized into the
Holy Spirit. Now we are heirs of the promise and empowered with spiritual gifts. . . . including the anointing!
Our prayer is that all the Body of Christ (The Anointed One and His Anointing) understand their calling and the gifts of God that are
available to us so we may live a victorious life, working out our salvation and being a living example of God’s mercy, grace,
provision, restoration and protection, In Jesus Name!
Love In Christ,
