Characteristics of Answered Prayer

We want you to know how much we appreciate you being a part of this ministry.  Jesus is the author of GEMinistries and every one
of you are its’ contributors.  All of us are working together to publish the Gospel through the arts.  We hope you will let us know
how we can better serve you with this Christian Cultural Arts Outreach.

Our daily intercession for you is that God’s perfect will is established in your life.  We love to pray and see prayers answered.  We
have had numerous prayers answered with miracles, signs and wonders.  We would like to see every request answered, but too
often many people go without.  We don’t assume to have all of the answers; however, as disciples, we have noticed some
characteristics of answered prayers.

It has been said “God is never late, but often misses the opportunity to be early.” Although humorous, it projects a
misunderstanding of cause and effect.  Romans 5:3-5 holds a key.  “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing
that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint,
because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.   The flow [perseverance to
character to hope that ignites the Holy Spirit] is the “timepiece” by which our prayers are answered.  God is waiting on us to have
an unfailing hope, based on character, forged by perseverance through tribulation.  Know that it is not tribulation that teaches us
something, it is the acquisition of perseverance that produces character.  The faster we allow our character to be changed, the
faster we arrive at the hope that doesn’t disappoint.

With all there is to deal with daily, our focus can become diffused to the point we can allow the magnitude of God’s power, and
Jesus’ sacrifice, to become blurred before our eyes.  Circumstances “cry out” and we often respond with our best ability.  As we
try to handle it all on our own, we forget we are not created to handle it all alone.  Additionally our sins and their consequences try
to persuade us that we have no right to stand before God and ask for favor.  Praise God He doesn’t see us that way.  Oh, taste
and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm34:8)

Persistent, unwavering faith in God’s Word is the necessary key to answered prayer.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous
man availeth much. (James 5:16)  As the character of God is magnified above the problems we face, the window is opened for
Him to pour on the solution.  Recognizing that God is THE answer saturates the circumstances with His power.  His power,
along with our obedience commands the blessing.  Focusing on Jesus’ absolute establishment of righteousness for our sake
builds faith and empowers to our prayers.  For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2Peter1:8)  We believe we receive, not because we earned righteousness, but because we
trust and receive the perfect gift of right standing and adoption as a child of God in Christ!  For ye are all the children of God by
faith in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:26)

Our prayer is that the spirit of wisdom and revelation fill our minds and hearts. We ask God, according to His will, that He grant
every petition and prayer. Thank you that perseverance is built in us, that our character is easily molded, and that we would have
unshakable Hope established in us.  We ask that we all have a renewed understanding of our adoption by God and experience
the unmerited favor of the Lord in every area of our life.  In Jesus’ name.

Love In Christ,
Gregory & Linda Emler
